Chardham – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath
The Chardham in Uttarakhand is one of the most important and sacred pilgrimage circuits in India, located in the majestic Himalayan ranges. Situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, the circuit consists of four holy shrines:

DAY 01: Delhi – Haridwar
Arrival in New Delhi – Drive to Haridwar (Approx. 210 km / 7–8 hours | Altitude: 314 meters)
Upon arrival at New Delhi/railway station, meet our representative and drive to Haridwar, a sacred city on the banks of the River Ganges (approximately 210 km, taking around 7–8 hours).
On reaching Haridwar, check in to your hotel and relax.
In the evening, proceed to Har Ki Pauri to attend the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony on the banks of the holy Ganges (local transport to Har Ki Pauri by auto-rickshaw at your own expense).
After the spiritual experience, return to the hotel.
Enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Overnight stay at Haridwar.
DAY 02: Haridwar – Syanachattti
This morning, after breakfast, depart for Syanachatti, located at the foothills of Yamunotri (approximately 220 km, 7–8 hours' drive). En route, enjoy a short stop to visit the beautiful Kempty Falls in Mussoorie.
After visiting Kempty Falls, continue your journey toward Syanachatti.On arrival at Syanachatti, check in to your hotel accommodation.
The rest of the day is free to relax and prepare yourself for the trekking (Pahad Yatra) to Yamunotri scheduled for the next day. Enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Overnight stay at Syanachatti.
DAY 03: Syanachatti – Yamunotri – Syanachatti
Early morning, after breakfast (with packed lunch), drive towards Phoolchatti (approximately 36 km). From Phoolchatti, begin the trek to Yamunotri (6 km one way). The trek can be undertaken on foot, by horse, or by doli (at your own cost). Yamunotri is situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters.
Upon reaching Yamunotri, take a holy dip in the warm waters of Jamunabai Kund and offer prayers at the Yamunaji Temple. After darshan, trek back to Jankichatti. Later, drive towards Syanachatti.
Overnight stay at Syanachatti.
DAY 04: Syanachatti – Uttarkashi
After breakfast this morning, drive towards Uttarkashi, located 100 km away (approximately a 4-hour drive), at an elevation of 1,352 meters. Upon arrival in Uttarkashi, check in to your hotel. In the evening, visit the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, followed by the Laser Show (at your own cost). Enjoy a restful overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
DAY 05: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
Early in the morning, after breakfast, drive towards Gangotri, which is 97 km away (approximately a 3-4 hour drive), situated at an altitude of 3,415 meters. En route, stop at Gangnani, a peaceful location where you can take a holy dip in the Garam Kund, known for its therapeutic warm water.
After the dip, enjoy a light breakfast at Gangnani before continuing the drive. The journey takes you through the scenic Harsil Valley, renowned for its natural beauty, lush greenery, and majestic views of Deodar trees and snow-capped mountains.
Upon arrival at Shree Gangotri, the sacred temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga, take a dip in the Bhagirathi River, which is considered the origin of the Ganges.
After your holy bath, perform a Pooja and seek Darshan at the temple. Take some time to relax in the tranquil surroundings, allowing the peaceful atmosphere to soak in. Later, drive to Bhairavgathi, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch amidst the serene mountain landscape.
In the afternoon, begin your drive back to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
DAY 06: Uttarkashi – Sitapur
After breakfast, drive towards Sitapur (310 km / approximately 8-9 hours), located at an altitude of 1,319 meters. En route, you will pass the beautiful Mandakini River at Tilwara. The Mandakini River originates from Kedarnath, and the drive follows the river, offering scenic views along the way. Upon arrival in Sitapur, check into your hotel. Enjoy a restful overnight stay at Sitapur.
DAY 07: Sitapur –Kedarnath
Early in the morning, after breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Sonprayag. From there, begin your 19 km trek to Kedarnath. You have the option to hire a Doli (palanquin) or a horse for the trek, at your own cost. The Mandakini River, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges, originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund, offering a scenic and spiritual journey. Along the trek, you will encounter fellow pilgrims chanting "Jai Bholenath," adding to the devotional atmosphere. The mist often envelops the mountains, only to lift and reveal the majestic, snow-covered peaks that seem to pierce the sky, creating an awe-inspiring sight.
Upon arrival at Kedarnath, check into the lodges for your stay. Please note that accommodation is basic and is provided on a bed-sharing basis. After settling in, enjoy a peaceful overnight stay and dinner at Kedarnath.
DAY 08: Kedarnath – Sitapur
Early in the morning, wake up before dawn. After taking a bath, head to the Kedarnath Temple by 4:45 am for the ‘Abhishek’ of Kedarnath Shiva. During this special ritual, everyone is allowed to enter the Garbha Griha (sanctum sanctorum) and have the rare opportunity to touch the idol of Lord Shiva. You can also offer your prostrations with your head touching the deity, engaging in a deeply spiritual experience.
After completing the Darshan and Puja, exit the temple and return to the lodges to rest for a short while. Later, begin the 19 km return trek from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. Upon reaching Sonprayag, drive back to Sitapur for the night.
Please note that transportation from Sitapur to Gaurikund and back is at your own cost. Upon arrival in Sitapur, enjoy a restful dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 09: Sitapur – Badrinath
After breakfast, drive to Badrinath (220 km / approximately 7 hours), located at an altitude of 3,300 meters. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, pilgrims typically take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund, the natural hot spring near the temple. After the bath, proceed to the Badrinath Temple to have the Darshan of Badrivishal (Lord Badrinath). In the evening, attend the Aarti at the temple, a devotional ceremony with chanting and ringing of bells, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
After the evening Aarti, return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay at Badrinath.
DAY 10: Badrinath – Rudraprayag
This morning, proceed for Badrinath Darshan (150 km / approximately 6 hours), located at an altitude of 690 meters. After completing the Darshan at the Badrinath Temple, return to your hotel for breakfast. Following breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Badrinath, visiting the scenic Mana Village, the last village on the Indo-Tibetan border, and the Bheem Pul, a natural rock bridge believed to have been created by Bheem from the Mahabharata.
In the afternoon, drive back towards Rudraprayag, passing through Karanprayag. Rudraprayag is a small yet significant pilgrimage town, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Upon arrival at Rudraprayag, check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the town at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel, followed by an overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
DAY 11: Rudraprayag – Haridwar
After breakfast, drive towards Haridwar via Rishikesh (165 km / approximately 5-6 hours). Rishikesh, often referred to as the "place of sages," is a renowned spiritual town situated on the banks of the Ganges. It is surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides, offering a serene and picturesque setting. According to legend, when Raibhya Rishi performed intense penances, God appeared before him in the form of Hrishikesh, and thus, this area came to be known as Rishikesh.
After arriving in Rishikesh, enjoy a sightseeing tour, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula. These famous suspension bridges are symbolic of the spiritual and cultural significance of the region. (The sightseeing can be done by auto, with payment made directly to the driver.)
After completing the sightseeing, continue your journey to Haridwar, where you will check into your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay at Haridwar.
DAY 12: Haridwar – Delhi
After breakfast, drive towards Delhi (220 km / approximately 6-7 hours). Upon arrival in Delhi, as per the prior discussion, you will be dropped off at either Indira Gandhi International Airport or New Delhi Railway Station for your onward journey.
